Vape Train Avocado Cream

VT-Avocado-Cream

This manages to be to be even stranger than you’d expect from an avocado cream flavor. Ultimately, there’s a whole lot going on here and I’m not quite sure how it works together.

If I had to reduce this all down to a couple words, I’d call it a rich mystery cream. There is a medium dense, rich underlying cream flavor that defines this for me. I’m getting some pretty solid buttery notes, and there is a fatty, unctous mouthfeel here. I struggle picking out some of the richer notes in creams, but this seems to be hitting whatever degenerate lizard brain richness sensors I have. It’s a little greasy, in a relatively pleasant way.

I’m not sure I get too much actual avocado here. There’s a strangely fruity greener note peeking out from that heavier, fatty base. It’s basically something strange that could be spun into an avocado, but it doesn’t necessarily jump out as such. If I wasn’t looking at the actual name of the concentrate, I probably wouldn’t be able to pick it up, but I could probably say that about most of the avocado flavors and actual avocado. It’s not like vaping guacamole or anything, so that’s probably for the best.

That fruity avocado note does lean towards banana quite a bit and with that green note it’s almost an underripe banana? It makes some kind of sense, in context, but it does tend to build and get a little distinct. There’s also a pretty prominent vanilla in here, and whatever Vape Train does with their richer vanillas ends up leaning toward a odd cocoa twinge.

So, blind, I’d probably call this underripe banana chocolate buttercream. I am a broken man. Nothing offensive here, but a profoundly strange package. I don’t have a huge basis of comparison or anything, but this strikes me as a less distinct avocado than FLV Avocado.

This isn’t hugely concentrated, but I don’t really want a lot of this flavor. 2% seems to be doing everything I need it to do. 6% isn’t bad, but the banana kicks up a little more. I’d probably be around 1-2% with than as an accent.

It could be just a failure of imagination, but I’m not at all sure where you’d use this. While I think accent percentages of this will fit in a bunch of richer cream and bakery profiles, I’m not sure why you’d reach for it. You can get “cleaner” richness from other heavy custard and dairy flavors. And it’s relatively rare to need an unripe banana flavor.

Setup: Recoil w/ flavor barrel, Dual 12 wrap 24g 3.5mm SS316 @.32 ohms. 60w power, 450F temp limit. Full Cotton Wicks.

Testing: Vape Train Avocado Cream, 2 and 6%, 60/40 VG/PG base, Steeped 15 days.

Profile: Rich, fatty cream flavor with some relatively subtle avocado.

Off-Flavors: Fairly prominent banana here. Odd cocoa tinge.

Throat Hit: Nah.

Percentage Recommendation: Probably 1-2% as an accent, but that’s mostly because I can’t figure out where I’d use this as a primary flavor. It vapes fine higher.
